Now what?

Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus had risen. Death was defeated. The stone was rolled away, and hope was no longer

buried.

But the story didn’t end there.

For forty days, Jesus walked the earth—alive. He appeared to His disciples, showed them His

scars, ate with them, restored Peter, and opened their understanding of the Scriptures. He

wasn’t disappearing quietly. He was preparing them.

Because before He ascended, He gave them a calling.

All authority in Heaven and on earth had been given to Him. And with that authority, He said to

go.

Go and make followers.

Go and baptize.

Go and teach.

Not stay. Not settle. Not return to life as usual.

So what does that look like for you?

It’s easy to celebrate the empty tomb and then slip back into routine. To feel the weight of it for a

moment, enjoy a special meal, post some Easter photos… and then move on. Some won’t visit

church again until Christmas Eve or next Easter Sunday. Others might consider attending

church a little more often.

But Jesus’s words weren’t a suggestion. They were a commission.

So now what?

It might not mean going far. It might mean showing up differently right where you are. Loving

someone who’s hard to love. Speaking truth when it would be easier to stay quiet. Sharing what

Jesus has done in your life, even if your voice shakes a little.

It might look like opening His Word each morning, before rushing through your morning.

Choosing obedience in a moment no one else sees. Offering encouragement when someone

else is ready to give up.

You don’t have to have all the answers. You just need to be willing.

Because you’re not going in your own strength.

He is with you—right there in the conversation, in the ordinary moment, in the step you’re

unsure you can take.

Because the tomb was empty.

So GO.

Because the struggle isn’t deciding what you believe—

it’s living like it’s true.

You are loved!
