Ordinary Days

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV

I have yet to hear of a bee organizing a protest because he's tired of collecting pollen and desperately needs a vacation in the Bahamas.

Bees don't gather in the hive complaining about the monotony of life or insisting they were made for bigger things. They simply do the work they were created to do.

Day after day.

Flower after flower.

Through thousands of ordinary tasks, they produce something wonderfully sweet.

We humans often think life happens somewhere else. We look forward to vacations, birthdays, retirement, and the next big thing, imagining that joy lives in the milestones.

Meanwhile, God keeps meeting us in ordinary Tuesdays.

In grocery stores and laundry rooms.

In caring for aging parents, praying for prodigal children, showing up for work, making dinner, and serving others.

Most of life isn't lived in grand moments.

It's lived in ordinary ones.

And perhaps that's exactly where God intends us to find Him.

Jesus Himself spent most of His earthly life in ordinary work and ordinary days. Heaven stepped into the routine and found nothing beneath its dignity.

The Kingdom of God is often built the same way.

One prayer. One encouraging word. One act of kindness. One Bible opened. One child loved. One small act of obedience at a time.

None of it feels spectacular in the moment. But over time, God gathers those quiet acts of faithfulness and produces something beautiful.

Galatians 6 reminds us not to grow weary in doing good because a harvest is coming. Not because every day feels exciting, but because faithfulness matters.

Perhaps we spend so much time waiting for the extraordinary that we miss where God usually works.

Honey isn't made in grand moments.

It's made through thousands of ordinary trips and countless unseen acts of faithfulness.

And maybe the sweetest parts of your life aren't found in the highlights at all.

Maybe they're being made right now.

One ordinary day at a time.
